Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Michael McCaul (TX-10) introduced the Election Protection Act of 2021. The legislation provides election security assistance, examines current federal election practices for shortfalls and encourages states to improve the election systems through incentives. Through this bill, states who certify secure election practices are provided a one-time grant. The Election Protection Act of 2021 is supported by Members of the Texas House and Senate that overlap with the 10th District of Texas.

Washington, D.C.—Congressmen Michael McCaul (TX-10) and Henry Cuellar (TX-28) introduced the United States-Mexico Tourism Improvement Act. This legislation will increase governmental cooperation between the United States and Mexico to reinvigorate tourism in both the United States and Mexico.
"Last year, our hospitality, retail and cultural educational sectors we gravely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic," said McCaul.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressmen Michael McCaul (TX-10) and Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan (MP-AL) reintroduced the Shark Fin Sales Elimination Act which would ban the buying and selling of shark fins in the United States. The same bill, introduced by McCaul and Sablan, had strong bipartisan support and passed in the last Congress, but the Senate took no action.

Washington, D.C. – Today Congressman Michael McCaul (TX-10) and Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06)led a bipartisan group of House lawmakers in sending a letter to President Biden, urging him to make bold investments in U.S. semiconductor manufacturing. Specifically, the letter asks the Administration to secure funding authorized in the Matsui and McCaul led CHIPS for America Act that was signed into law as part of the FY21 National Defense Authorization Act.

This legislation has support on both sides of the aisle.

Following the passage of the CHIPS Act last Congress, Members are now discussing how to create incentives to secure semiconductor supply chains.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Michael McCaul (TX-10) sent a letter to the Departments of Health and Human Services and Defense after hearing troubling reports of delayed or cancelled vaccine appointments for U.S. troops and their families stationed at home and abroad.

Reportedly, some U.S. military hospitals are experiencing significant delays in supplies of the vaccine, which has caused appointments to be cancelled, leaving many American military officials vulnerable to COVID-19.
