McCaul Votes for Impeachment Articles Against Secretary Mayorkas
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul — chairman emeritus and senior member of the House Committee on Homeland Security — voted to pass articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas out of committee. The resolution passed 18-15, with all Republicans voting in favor.
"By refusing to enforce and abide by the law, Secretary Mayorkas has created an unmitigated disaster that is destroying the fabric of our nation," said Rep. McCaul. "I am one voice, but I speak for 800,000 Texans who are fed up with the chaos and destruction he has caused across our state and far beyond. Since Secretary Mayorkas continues to neglect his Constitutional duties, my Republican colleagues and I are fulfilling ours by voting to remove him from office."
