McCaul on Decision to Launch Airstrikes Against Syria

April 13, 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX), Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee and a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement after President Trump's decision to authorize precision strikes against Syria.

Congressman McCaul: "The most recent chemical attack in Syria was a barbaric slaughter that took the lives of innocent civilians, including women and children. The civilized world needed to act and I commend President Trump for leading this bold response. The airstrikes carried out by the United States and our allies demonstrate to dictators everywhere, that the use of weapons of mass destruction will not be tolerated.

"For the sake of international peace and security, the evil regime in Damascus and its Russian and Iranian sponsors should heed this warning and immediately end their immoral and illegal acts of aggression.

"May God bless all who serve in the United States military."
