McCaul Visits Normandy on 80th Anniversary of D-Day

June 5, 2024

Normandy, France – Today, U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) — chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee — departed for Normandy, France, with a bipartisan congressional delegation to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

“On June 6, 1944, Allied forces carried out the largest military invasion in history when they stormed the beaches of Normandy. Eighty years later, I’m extremely honored to have the opportunity to shake hands with the few remaining heroes, who — like my father — risked everything for our nation and the values for which it stands. As our world grows more dangerous once again, I couldn’t think of a better time to remember the Greatest Generation and brave soldiers who fought to ensure freedom prevailed over evil.”
